History

Born to the Kajhir Clan of the Black Shroud, Ankti'ra had very colorful upbringing. At an early age, the Keeper learned about beekeeping - one of the family businesses - and the alchemy and herbology of cosmetics. They took right to cosmetics, and as a young teenager would do more and more to perfect the various family recipes for the facepaints they wore. They grew close to their sister Nesra, even as they grew away from their other siblings - a bit of a rebellious streak in them. She never got along with the other women of the clan, never feeling as if they belonged amongst them because they weren't one of them, and eventually approached their Matriarch for permission to transition. They began transitioning at 16, taking a nonbinary identity, and remained with their clan for another two cycles. Feeling they needed room to grow, they set off from their family's caravans and made their way to Limsa Lominsa with a heart full of dreams.Arriving in the port city, they quickly realized there weren't a lot of ways for an uneducated Keeper to get work. They started out working briefly for the Angler's Guild, making what little money they could while they taught themself to read, and then moved on to seek out better employment. Their quickest options at that point were working the pillows on a pleasure barge, or handling the bar on one of the same red ships. They elected to work the bar, excelled, and eventually took over as Floor Manager. The small, wiry Keeper was notorious for keeping tight control over how their staff was treated, and quickly threw out patrons three times their size for touching or ogling someone they were not permitted to. During their time running the floor on a pleasure barge, they drew the eyes of the Upright Thieves and were inducted quickly into their ranks.Now one of the illusive rogues of Limsa Lominsa, and not one for killing or combat where it could be avoided, they went on to hone a particular specialty long leftover by their clan... disguise. They began making cosmetics and prosthesis to aid other Rogues on infiltration missions, and quickly became a go-to expert in their field. They used the gil they earned from their work with the Rogues to purchase a Salon just off Hawker's Alley, where they work now.

Most folks would know the name Ankti'ra Kajhir from their work as an Aesthetician. Ankti'ra owns a fairly popular Salon in Limsa Lominsa where they handle hair, nails, spa and skin treatments, massage, and bespoke cosmetics services. If you've needed an Aesthetician in Limsa, and you couldn't handle being around Jandelaine, you very likely heard their name.

A Pirate's Life for Thee.

Rarely, someone may have come across the Keeker in the course of their work with the Upright Thieves, predecessor of the Rogue's Guild in Limsa Lominsa. Whether or not Ankti'ra still works with the Sisters is unknown. (This is an uncommon hook)

Ankti'ra is a long time bartender, having worked a number of places in Limsa Lominsa. They've handled a few taverns in the city, and even worked behind the bar on one of Limsa Lominsa's infamous pleasure barges.
